Martin Feldkircher new Professor of International Economics

The DA is delighted to announce the appointment of Martin Feldkircher as new Professor of International Economics, effective from 1st October 2020.

Professor Feldkircher’s research interests are primarily macroeconomics, international economics, forecasting, and Bayesian analysis. He received his habilitation from the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Mr Feldkircher has published extensively in academic and institutional journals on these topics, and was honoured with the “Young Economist Award” of the Austrian Economic Association in 2014. Since 2008 he has been employed in the Foreign Research Division of the Austrian Central Bank.

Martin Feldkircher is successor to Professor Werner Neudeck, the DA’s longest serving resident faculty member. Mr Neudeck has lectured at the DA since 1985 and has been Professor of International Economics since 1997. In the same year, he also became Dean of the MAIS Programme, a joint programme of the DA and the University of Vienna. Although Prof Neudeck is retiring from his position as the DA’s Chair of Economics, he will continue his teaching activities.

We extend a heartfelt welcome to Martin Feldkircher as the new Professor of International Economics and as a member of the DA team!
