Programme
After an introduction to EU integration perspectives, the institutional framework of the European Union and the intricacies of its decision-making processes, topical EU policies in the fields of enlargement and external relations in the context of global trends and developments are discussed. Particular emphasis is placed on human rights, gender equality and women’s empowerment, as well as on environmental and energy questions and migration issues.
Taking into consideration Vienna’s special role as a seat of international organisations, the programme includes a discussion of global security issues and a study visit to the UN and OSCE offices.
This programme includes a two-week training programme in Vienna as well as a five-day study visit to Brussels and The Hague, with presentations and discussions amongst others at the European Commission, the European External Action Service, the European Parliament, and the ICC. Participants are thus provided with a first-hand insight into the working of European and International institutions.
