Cooperative Degree Programmes of the Vienna School of International Studies

The Cooperative Degree Programmes of the DA are open to students of the Master of Advanced International Studies. MAIS students have the opportunity to complete their second academic year at a partner university:

Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA)

Since 2010 the DA is an affiliate member of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA). As professional school dedicated to preparing talented graduates for international careers and positions of leadership in international policymaking, the DA joined APSIA in order to contribute to the development of professional education in international affairs. APSIA offers a platform for continuous, dynamic and fruitful exchange with the leading schools of international affairs around the world.

Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE)

Since 2016, the DA is a proud member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). Being one of the largest international non-profit associations of educational institutions, CASE serves professionals in the fields of alumni relations, communications, marketing and development of about 3,600 universities, colleges and schools in more than 80 countries.

Alumni Association of the Vienna School of International Studies (ClubDA)

Since 1964 more than 2,300 students from over 120 countries have successfully completed academic programmes of the Vienna School of International Studies. The Alumni Association of the DA (ClubDA) was established with the aim of enabling alumni to easily keep in touch with each other and the DA after their studies. In addition, this worldwide network provides strong support to DA alumni on their path to a successful career.

Forum außenpolitische Think-Tanks (FaTT)

At the end of 2017, the DA initated the Forum außenpolitische Think-Tanks (FaTT), a network of more than 30 organisations and institutes situated in Austria which focus on foreign and European policy. It is the aim of the forum to exchange research papers and briefing materials, to discuss and co-operate in Austrian foreign policy priorities, and to strengthen the interest in European and foreign policy topics in the public sphere.

Fulbright Grants

The Vienna School of International Studies and the Fulbright Commission in Austria offer jointly a Fulbright-Diplomatic Academy Visiting Professor of International Relations Grant. Details are available at www.fulbright.at.

International Forum on Diplomatic Training (IFDT)

The International Forum on Diplomatic Training (IFDT) assembles Deans and Directors of some 100 Diplomatic Academies and Institutes of International Relations worldwide. It was established in 1972 by a joint initiative of the Vienna School of International Studies and the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University, Washington, DC.

The Forum meets annually to share information about recent trends in diplomacy and experiences gained in training for diplomatic and international careers.
